Wimbledon II

Aerial view of Wimbledon venue.
The circular enclosure is the Centre Court(most impt) while the
rectangular enclosure is Court 1(2nd most impt), the rest are called
the outside courts and are numbered 2,3,4...

Starting today at 1830hrs S'pore time, Wimbledon begins. You can catch the matches 'live' on StarSports Channel 24. A brief introduction to this tournament...

Wimbledon is the oldest Grand Slam tournament ( inaugrated in 1877 ). It is played on grass abt 6mm tall. It is also the richest Grand Slam. The winner of the singles will receive a cool 700,000pounds ( SGD 2.1 million ) while a first round loser gets 10,000 pounds ( SGD 30,000 ). Consider this; the winner in 1968 received 2000 pounds.

Now, quick register your kids for tennis lessons before their 4th birthday! However, you must be prepared to spend loads of money first before you see the results because our sports council do not place much emphasis or fundings in tennis. Hop on the bandwagon because tennis is gaining popularity in Asia. Who knows, your son or daughter may be the Sharapova or Agassi of Asia.

Tennis is one of the richest non-salaried sports behind Golf. Sharapova commands an appearance fee of USD 1 million. Just last year alone, she made over USD22million endorsing products.

Wimbledon

The music is great although it's always repeating the same few bars...Befitting of equestrian, golf and tennis. I was captivated by this advertisment while watching Starsports.

Funny

While waiting for the pictures of my trip to arrive, I've decided to upload some hilarious stuff. The above pictures were taken from a couple of pin-ups introducing the works of Ho Chi Minh at the Musoleum.

Being the mean and tactless person that I was, I couldn't hold back my laughter when I read them. Hahaha....The mood in the musoleum was supposed to be one of sombre but seeing this, who can resist it? Come on, join me...muhaha.... Opps, going overboard already..

Back!

Hmm...back from a tiring but enjoyable trip to Vietnam. Met new friends, learnt new things and had a good time fooling around. This time round, my refrain from buying unnecessary stuff was pretty successful. Just a couple of polo tees, tennis shoes and some decoratives.

The trip was very affordable too! At just under $1100 for shopping, food, accomodation, return flights and 1 domestic flight plus some generous tipping, it is certainly a bargin.

Pictures not in yet coz most of the more beautiful pictures were taken with my friend's camera. Trust me, the pics are really nice ( at least by my standard ).

Holiday

Squeezing in some blog time in my tiring tour schedule in Vietnam.
Have to put it in point form, no time to write in paragraphs.
Learnt quite a few things like the history, culture and the landscape of the country.
Accomodation so far has been not too bad given how little we pay. ( This entry was done in my hotel room! Personal internet ! )
Food is fantastic coz we always eat at restaurants...yummy baby
Shopping is great minus the heat...fake stuffs are nice
Sightseeing is okay coz we din see much but otherwise what we saw was not bad minus the heat.
HEAT IS A BITCH....SO HOT!!! Where is the air-con???

Pictures will have to wait when moi gets back to SG. Tmr gg Ha Long Bay for boat stay. Hope it doesn't rain.

J_L, with love for Singapore's endless stretch of air-con shops and malls and tt someone who doesn't love me at all, from Hanoi.

Lost

Every morning since that morning, I wake up to nothing. There is nothing to look forward to. Your silly yet lovable gestures never fail to put smiles on our faces. Now, the house and my heart are empty, void and lonely.

Sometimes, I just want to sleep and never want to wake up. Each time I closed my eyes, the memories you preparing breakfast for me, getting ready my uniform for school, us going to have my favourite prawn noodles, you buying lunch and cooking my favourite chilli crabs seemed so fresh. You understood me more than myself.

The pain is still raw, searing through my heart and breaking my spirit. Never in my life I felt so much grief and sorrow. You will always have a special place in my heart and mind which no one will ever replace. I am willing to sell my soul to the devil just to see you one more time.

I know you were never really angry with me when I was rude. You loved me more than anyone, but I was too young to realise that. Where are you now? Why must it be now?

Lost...

Gone

Goodbye my loved one,
Thank you for loving and protecting me,
Your pain is gone but ours has just started.
