Denmark Day 3

An ice-skating rig in the middle of town!!!
A weary pose during our ride back to Lyngby...
Look closely at the prices of the Indonesian food...it's exorbitant! SGD1 = DKK 3.5...
Do I need to say more?
A smiley toaster !
Xiaoli trying out her boots while we just nonchalantly occupied the seats meant for other shoppers...how inconsiderate!!!
Setting sun...beautiful river that meanders through Copenhagen(Kobenhavn)...
A gallant horseman statue in the middle of the road...
By a huge something...haha

A typical street...the walkway is not as nice as in SG...there's almost always a thin layer of water.
Typical buildings in Denmark...
A chinese shop in Kobenhavn...
Tiger, a shop which sells relatively cheap stuff...
Macdonalds...
This fellow is huge!!! The fur is super thick too...
Posing at the train station...Xiaoli, Me and Baolai
Lyngby station...where DTU is located
In the bus, there's a nice table. Buses are longer in Denmark than Singapore.

Bus/Train tickets. The country is divided into zones. The zones spread out in radial manner. For eg., if i am in zone 2 and i want to get to zone 7, I need to punch a "2 zoner" once and a "3 zoner" once. You can take bus or train to get to your destination and take as many rides as possible as long as you punch the corrrect no. of cards to make up the no. of zones you are traveling across.

Shall not explain much... The captions will do the talking. My posts are done as at Singapore timing to prevent confusion. In any case, Denmark is 7 hours behind Singapore...

It had been a hectic day as we throng the streets at Lynby again to search for more economical food. Chicken was way too expensive normally but we managed to get a frozen one at Dkk17.50 because it was the last day that chicken can be eaten.

We were at the Storcentre to shop. I got a bottle of moisturizer and my lan cable. Generally it was more of another day of grocery shopping. While at that, we did not forget to have some fun. Went to H&M, the equivalent of Topshop and tried on with the winter stuff and camwhored.

Tomorrow, we are off to Copenhagen!

Copenhagen - The Start

This is my first post in Denmark. Tucked in a cosy corner of my container room, I pen my thoughts and my experience while the merciless wind gale outside. I have grossly underestimated the weather for I brought along a thinny weeny jacket and had chuck the rest of my winter wear in my luggage. The extremities were the hardest hit! Damn it, I feel like a cabbage in my freezer!

Went to get my room which is located inside campus(yay) before heading to IKEA to shop. I am so retarded; having paid SGD730 for Eurail pass, I actually forgot to bring them! Upping the retardedness, I actually brought along freaking useless phamplets! Had some kinda fried rice 'rice' with colourful i dunno-wats garnishes and ingredients. It was DKK 29. Everything is so expensive here.

Dinner was better, coz it was cheaper and home-cooked style. Ate instant noodles with eggs and tuna. Though simple but it warmed it gave my caucuses a jolly. haha...As I am penning this, I am so regretting not bringing my lan cable coz it costs freaking DKK 70 ( SGD 20 ) for 1m. The flight here was superb! Great food, wonderful air stewardess and comfortable flight albeit a few noisy weeping babies. Good nite world...

Last Day

Walking through the hallway leading to the door one last time, I titled my head just enough to catch a glimpse of my room without wanting to fill myself with all sorts of emotions. In that fraction of second, I could see myself lying on the bed, face buried in the pillow in deep slumber. It was so surreal.

A tear coerced at the edge of my eye and I felt it sliding down my cheek. I knew that I have to go for this place no longer belonged to me. I have made that decision and it was too late to revert. The familiar things which I had taken for granted suddenly became so important to me. I wanted to bring them with me but it was not to be.

With a heavy heart, I shut my eyes and walked straight. I never looked back. All sorts of wild thoughts ran through my confused mind. What if this....What if that....What if...The 'What-ifs' came fast and furious. Questions and self-doubts aplenty but answers were not forthcoming.

An familiar scent grew stronger with each step I take. I remember this smell. It was just a week ago that I encountered it. 'What is that smell?', muttering under my breath. I struggled to find an answer. Suddenly, I could smell my breath 'reverberating' in my nose and infinitesimally after that I felt my face being squashed. I have hit a wall! Ouch! It all made sense; I had painted my door a week ago.

I am not dying, neither have I banged a wall while my soul leaves my body. (Sorry to disappoint) Just a silly attempt on writing. ha! What is real is, in less than 24hours' time, I will be heading for Denmark to embark on my SEP. Apprehensions aplenty...

Kim Ah Jung - Maria - 200 Pounds Beauty

Although the lyrics don't ring a bell to me except 'Maria' and 'Ave Maria', it is nonetheless worthy of storing it your MP3 or what-haf-u sleek portable music devices.

Kim Ah Jung is damn pretty and she has the curves to go along. The show is tastefully made exploring the real truth behind being on the larger side of things. It gave an objective perception to cosmetic surgery, erring on the side of caution.

Hey, if you have lotsa spare cash and want to look like Brad or Wu Zhun, Jennifer or Ah Jung, why not go under the knife? Be sure u haf even more spare cash to fix the 1st job if it did not go as planned. Ha!

Achieved

After soo long since i reached the legal age to drive, I have finally gotten my driving license!!! It was especially lazy of me not to obtain the license earlier since I have military licenses (classes 3,4 and 5). Been putting it off year after year and one fine day last April, I decided to drag myself to register for theory and the rest was history.

Quite fortunate to pass on my first attempt with a respectable score of 10 demerit points. The number of demerit points is irrelevant when all you need is a pass unlike NUS where a pass is grossly insufficient!!! They should introduce a system where you'll get petrol rebate for the lack of demerit points you accumulate during your test. As if...

To the finals !!!

Eusoff Hall men's team...finalist in IHG 07/08...
serving up the speed...body weight into the serve...
Picking out the opponents' weaknesses...

Beyond our expectations, EH's men's team has made in to the finals of IHG 07/08. For four consecutive years, the men's team has made it into the finals. However, we played bridesmaid in all but 1 finals. We won in IHG 05/06... lost 2-3 in 04/05 and 06/07. Sadly, there's only medals for the champions and none for the runners-up.

We defeated Sheares Hall in a tight 3-2 with us taking both the doubles and 1 singles. Credit goes to Nobu, our Japanese exchange student who gritted out a tantalizing 6-0,7-5 victory over a varsity player! My pairing with Handy won 6-2,7-5 against an above average player and his average partner. Dinidu and Marcus crashed their opponents 6-0,6-1 in little over half an hour.

Next up is KR which boasts 4 varsity players. That sums it up. We are gone! They have Marc Lim ( youth champion ) and Joshua ( youth 4th ) and a German exchange dude who plays in his country's professional tennis league. OMG!!! Bridesmaid again !!!

Army Pals

Met up with some of my army pals on Sat. It was quite fun, how we NEVER fail to make sarcastic remarks abt one another (of course in a cordial manner). Great company reminiscing those gd and not-so-pleasant times in the army. Its been nearly 3years since we ORDed; age do catch up with us, how some have visible receding hairline. haha.

Dined @ Cafe Cartel before adjourning to Secret Recipe. Pork Ribs @ Cartel was delicious, highly recommended and Chocolate Banana from Secret Recipe was equally addictive!
