Kiruna III

Arlanda Airport in Stockholm...40min bus ride away from city centre...
Postcard worthy building...which I am lazy to find what it is...
Artery of the shopping district...
Beautiful lights at the shopping district...
Stockholm Night Skyline...
Posing by the bridge leading to Gamla Stan (old Stockholm City )...
A typical street along Stockholm City...for that matter...it typifies that of most Scandinavian cities...

Seeing double? Joey and Joel with a Swedish who after so long still find nosy tourists amusing...check out his controlled grin...
Nobel Museum...unfortunately, we did not have time or money for a piece of academic history...
Realising that we may never win the Nobel Prize, we decided to rehearse for the Guard of Honour...
Harbourfront?

This is the last part of my Sweden trip. We flew back to Stockholm and spent 1.5 days. It was free and easy as with most of other of our trips. Things are relatively cheaper in Sweden than Denmark. Stockholm had so much to offer in terms of shopping and affordable stuff.

We were quite disappointed that we did not do our SEP in Stockholm instead. Alas, we dragged our weary bodies back to Copenhagen and back to reality; school!

On hindsight, not touring Nobel Museum was a pity. On the issue of Nobel Prizes, Sweden is the venue where the prizes for Physics, Economics, Chemistry, Literature and Medicine are awarded while Oslo, Norway is the venue for which the prize for Peace is awarded. No explanations were provided for this arrangement.

As most would know, Singapore does not have a Nobel laureate yet. If we already had one, you would probably have known as his face would be decorated on our coins or even notes! Not having a laureate does not bear testimony to our education system. We have other areas which we can repeat in gustto! Our table tennis and badminton players, national air carrier, our airport, our spanking clean streets, our gini coefficient, our sms world-record holder and many more. Just flip through the newspapers and you will be reminded of them (ever so often)..

Denmark has got 2 Nobel laureates and they are related by blood. In fact, there are father and son; Niels Bohr and Aage Niels Bohr. Senior came up with model of the atomic structure while junior won for quantum mechanics.
