Weary smiles even before the most exciting part of the day began...haiz...tired and hardworking international students...we so deserve our ski trip...haha
We had to trek for a mile or two to reach the minibus pickup point...NOT...it was more like 20-30metres from the train station...
The shades served no purpose in skiing except that I had to wear them so as to justify my bringing it all the way here...yup and to hide my eyes...
I was so good @ skiing that my fwen insisted I had to fall at least once...just for the camera...so i gladly obliged...haha...as if...that was my 3968th fall...
A quick pose in front of some structure @ Vinterpark which i found interesting to be captured in a cam with...
We dropped a camera and everyone happened to find it simultaneously! It so happened that it was also set on timer mode...so taa daa...we might as well smile for the camera!
We tried to rehearse for a modeling job for Lacoste but it turned out to be quite...can find a vocab...so let's just say 'duhz'...
It was my first ski experience. Tryvann Vinterpark was the choice! Skiing to me was like driving without brakes and steering wheel! After a few tips from Yan Li, I fixed the steering wheel (a little bit) but the brakes weren't functioning still. I managed to find a few creative ways to stop. Some were okie but most qualify for world's stupidest acts caught on videos.
The local kids were super good! Some as young as 5 made me looked like I was some kinda fruit cake on skis! Well, I wasn't alone! They were a few other fruit cakes around too (no offense), so it was not so bad...haha...
After trying the practice slope, I got comfortable and went to the real slopes. The slopes were really steep and I was going straight! I reckoned I was skiing down at 70-80kph. OMG, that was so exhilarating! As the saying goes, all good things must end. End it did, in heaps of snow! A slight twist of the left foot at 70kph sent me flying! After tumbling this way and that for 3968 times, my body became numb to it and I quite enjoy falling. Right.....
The 2nd day was spent walking around Oslo City. Being a Sunday, there was nothing to do. We decided to walk abit and visited the Parliament House, Royal Palace, University of Oslo and some military museum. The company @ Oslo, besides the usual included Samuel (Aussie),Dan (Aussie), Adam(American) and Jiwon(Korean). There are pros @ skiing, and Adam was a natural on snowboard!
Norway got to be the most expensive city that I have ever visited so far. 59NOK ($16) for a simple Kebab meal. Fortunately, we planned for a 3day trip, so it wasn't too expensive. Next up, its Italy. But before, it is school as usual.
